Helping Rodders Spend More Time Cruising and Less Time Polishing
There is something that we can all agree upon, whether we’re traditional hot rodders rocking chrome or the new guys sporting high-tech billet components. Lying on our backs and polishing control arms or wheels is something that no one enjoys, and for that matter, hanging over a ’40 fender to polish engine components is kind of overrated, too.
For many years now, polishes have gotten better and better thanks to the introduction of synthetic materials from such companies as Meguiar’s and Mothers. Even though these new products have helped to extend the time between polishings, a good wash or a bad storm can ruin a nice polishing job, not to mention using strong detergent on aluminum parts.
It is second nature to rodders that when polished accessories go south, it’s time to head outside and start working to bring the polished aluminum back to life. While not enjoyable for most, polishing must be done to preserve those pretty and generally expensive parts. While some rodders actually enjoy polishing and detailing, for those of us looking for more time between polishings, Zoops Products has developed a new product known as ZoopSeal, which helps to prevent wheels and other polished accessories from needing to be polished so often. For many years, Zoops has been building and designing aluminum pulleys and brackets for the automotive aftermarket. It only seems appropriate for a company in the polished aluminum business to formulate a sealant to help its customers maintain their prized vehicle components. The easy-to-apply sealant keeps polished aluminum products from dulling and oxidizing, and it eliminates the need for polishing for up to 2-3 years, depending on the environment and maintenance. This sure sounds good to us! Remember that ZoopSeal is not a polish, but rather a sealer. When you begin to apply the special formula, keep in mind that any flaws on the part will remain there after the ZoopSeal is applied, so be sure to polish and clean all parts thoroughly before applying it.
The ZoopSeal kit comes with everything required to cover 75 sq ft, which is enough to coat everything beneath the hood and even a full set of wheels. Once the ZoopSeal is mixed, it is good to use for up to 6 weeks, but it must be refrigerated. The ZoopSeal works on aluminum, brass, chromeplating, stainless steel and even anodized aluminum parts. The great thing about ZoopSeal is that any time the seal needs to be removed, it can simply be buffed off with a commercial polisher. The Deluxe kit retails for around $100 and will only take a few hours of your weekend to apply, and then your polishing chores are completed for quite some time to come.
